Doha: South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association holds 33rd Annual General Meeting

Doha, Jan 11: The South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association (SKMWA) held its 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on January 3 at Hyderabad Palace Restaurant, marking a significant moment Imran Ahmed Bava has been elected as the new president of SKMWA.

The event was hosted by vice president Imran Bawa, who ensured the smooth execution of the proceedings. The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Ramzil Kausary, followed by a warm welcome note from outgoing vice president Rizwan Ahmed.

General secretary Abdulhameed Rasheed Kakinje presented the annual report, summarizing the association’s activities and accomplishments over the past year, while treasurer Mohammed Faisal Sheikh shared the financial report, providing a clear and transparent overview of the association's financial standing.

Outgoing president Suhaib Ahmed addressed the gathering, expressing his gratitude to the members for their unwavering support during his tenure. He concluded his speech with a heartfelt vote of thanks, officially dissolving the outgoing committee.

The newly elected SKMWA executive committee was then announced as follows:

Vice president - Mohammed Condana

General secretary - Abdul Rasheed Bambila

Joint secretary - Saleem Ali Ullal

Treasurer - Ahmed shamsheer Mohammed

Joint treasurer - Siddik Areej

Sports secretary - Ameer Hamza

Joint sports secretaries - Ahmed Irfan and Mohammed Shameer Punjalkatte

Cultural secretary - Sabeel Abdul Rehman

Event secretaries - Saleem Ullal , Imthiyaz Abdul Razak and Elyas Muriyala

Event coordinators - Mahammad noushik, Abdul Rasheed BC Road, Ramzil Kousary Abu and Irfan Punjalkatte

The new president, Imran Ahmed Bava, extended congratulations to the outgoing team for their successful tenure, acknowledging their dedication and hard work. He expressed gratitude to all committee members for their support and cooperation, expressing confidence that the newly elected team will uphold and enhance the esteemed legacy of SKMWA and expressed their commitment to upholding the association’s values and working towards its mission of community welfare and development.
