Mangalore: Labhu Ram Transferred, Abhishek Goyal to be New SP

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jan 2: In a sudden move, district superintendent of police Labhu Ram has been transferred to Davangere, and Bagalkot SP Abhishek Goyal will be appointed in his place.

Labhu Ram had taken charge of the office of SP on March 28, 2011. The transfer thus comes in less than a year.

Labhu Ram

Labhu Ram is an IPS officer of 2004 batch and had been in Dakshina Kannada district for his field/practical training in 2006 also. He has also served as in-charge superintendent of police, Udupi district and as Hassan SP, among other postings.

Hailing from Barmar district of Rajasthan, Labhu Ram is a BSc graduate and holds a diploma in general nursing.

The sudden transfer comes in the wake of the stone-pelting incident at Sullia a few days ago, followed by alleged torture of BJP activists which resulted in action against additional SP and nine other policemen.

Abhishek Goyal, who would be replacing him, is of 2005 batch, and is currently the SP of Bagalkot. He did his BTech from IIT Delhi, and has served as subdivisional assistant superintendent of police at Puttur.

In addition, the government also transferred and promoted other IPS officers. Former IGP (Western Range) Alok Mohan has been promoted and appointed as ADGP, recruitment and training, while Alok Kumar has been promoted as IGP.

DG-IGP Shankar M Bidari will also be the chairman of KSPHC.

Dear Mr. Sujan Please read thefollowing sentence and then let me know you opinion,- "Labhu Ram had taken charge of the office of SP on March 28, 2011. The transfer thus comes in less than a year".
I'm not interconnecting it toany party but the present ruling govt is doing such kind of mischievious acts, then what more or what else can be expected from any of the ministers.
If they were straight forward the why this transfer within a year of completion of service from mangalore. It cannot be a regular transfer within a year when he is handling a very crucial case.

@Alan: It's people like you who interconnect everything as communal issue. It's just an usual transfer thing and let's not cry for that.

You don't say anything about the RSS lead government withdrawing cases of all those Catholics who had cases against them.

I really pity these IAS and IPS officers. These people who are highly qualified professionals take up the UPSC exams and join the government service and most of the time get treated badly by our insensitive politicians. After all is it worth joining government service when you have so many national and international opportunities in private sector. Although private sector has its own follios ,but I still find it more satisfying to work in private sector than be the pallbearers of the politicians. I may sound cynical, but it is the truth of today

It is surprising that Laburam has been transferred within weeks after IGP Alok Mohan decided to go to Singapore and Harward for higher studies.

Laburam has indeed given a great account of himself as a forthright and fine officer and he will be missed by all peace loving people. I join scores of people in wishing Laburam the best of everything in his future career at Davangere.

By the same token I extend a warm and hearty welcome to Mr. Goyal and wish him a fruitful and satisfying tenure in Dakshna Kannada.

Here proves the power of these RSS led BJP govt. Action taken by the Inspector for stone pelting could not be digested by these saffron terrorists and pressurised the govt to transfer the inspector.
What more can be expected by such kind of politicians, as they cant take any action against defaulters, for vote bank issue, rather transfer the police for taking needfuyll action so that the case might be ped off.
