Bantwal, Jan 15: A severe collision between two bikes on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway at Ramalkatte claimed the life of a young girl and left two others injured. The tragic accident occurred late in the night.
The deceased has been identified as 13-year-old Ismath Ayisha, a resident of Kodambettu in Kukkipadi village. She was riding pillion with her father, Abdul Rahman, who also sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
The accident reportedly took place when Ranjith, a resident of Nettarakere, was riding on the wrong side of the road near Ramalkatte. He collided with Abdul Rahman’s bike, which was heading in the correct direction towards Thumbe. Ranjith also suffered injuries and has been admitted to a hospital.
The impact of the accident left both bikes extensively damaged. Panemangalore traffic sub-inspector Suthesh visited the site and has registered a case.
