Mumbai, Jan 16: In a shocking incident, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan sustained injuries during a robbery attempt at his residence in Bandra West, Mumbai. The intrusion occurred around 2:30 am on Thursday when an unidentified individual broke into the house and allegedly attacked Saif with a knife. At the time, Saif was asleep, along with his wife Kareena Kapoor and their family.

The intruder fled the scene when other occupants awoke. Police officials are actively investigating the case, with an FIR being registered. Several police teams, along with the Mumbai crime branch, are working to apprehend the suspect.

A senior IPS officer confirmed the attack, stating, “Saif Ali Khan has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. It is still unclear whether he was stabbed or sustained injuries during a confrontation with the intruder. Investigations are underway, and a parallel probe is being conducted by the Mumbai crime branch.

Dr Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, reported, “Saif was attacked by an unidentified person at his residence and was brought to the hospital at 3:30 am. He has six injuries, two of which are severe, with one dangerously close to his spine. Neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr Leena Jain, and anaesthetist Dr Nisha Gandhi are currently performing surgery. The extent of the damage will be assessed once the procedure is complete.”
