Mangaluru, Jan 16: Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty shot an important sequence for his upcoming Tulu movie ‘Jai’, directed by Roopesh Shetty.
‘Jai’ marks the Bollywood star's debut in a Tulu film. Sunil filmed a sequence at the Sahyadri College turf ground, with actors Raj Deepak Shetty and Prasanna Shetty Bailur also taking part.
The film is a big-budget project, with shooting taking place across several coastal locations, including Kuthar, Dambel, Marakada, Shoolin Palace Maravoor, Bondel, Panambur, and Baikampady. It features prominent actors from Dakshina Kannada in its cast.
For the first time, a helicopter has been used in a Tulu film, marking a significant milestone in the industry. Roopesh Shetty has also managed to bring Sunil Shetty on board for a Tulu film, which is a remarkable achievement. This collaboration is a positive development for the Tulu film industry, as it not only introduces innovative production techniques but also attracts greater attention to Tulu cinema. It’s a great step forward for the industry, potentially opening doors for more talent and wider recognition.
Following the success of Girgit, Gamjaal, and Circus, Roopesh Shetty has embarked on this ambitious venture. The film is produced under the banners of Jai Cinema, RS Cinemas, Shoolin Films, and Mugrodi Productions.
The story and dialogues are written by Prasanna Shetty Bailoor, with Vinut K handling cinematography, Loy Valentine Saldanha composing the music, and Rahul Vasista serving as editor. The producers are Anil Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty Mugrodi, and Manjunath Attavara, with Deekshit Alva as co-producer. Naveen Shetty Aryans is the choreographer and executive producer.
The cast includes Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Raj Deepak Shetty, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Prasanna Shetty Bailoor, Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, and Umesh Mizar, with Adhvithi Shetty playing the lead female role. The movie, set to be shot in three phases, will complete its third and final phase this January, as confirmed by actor and director Roopesh Shetty.
