Niraamaya College of Nursing holds lamp lighting, an oath taking ceremony

Udupi, Jan 16: Niraamaya College of Nursing, a unit of Vishnumoorthy Hayavadana Swami Education Society (R) Sri Sode Vadiraja Mutt, Udupi held lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony for the second batch of BSc Nursing students, in the seminar hall on January 15.

The programme began with invoking God's blessings, followed by lighting of the inaugural lamp and paying the floral tribute to Florence Nightingale.

The chief guest, Dr Anitha C Rao, professor and principal, Vidyarathna College of Nursing, Udupi addressed the gathering and spoke about the significance of lamp lighting and aath taking ceremony of nursing professionals. She congratulated and conveyed best wishes to the students for their clinical learning.

Rathnakumar, honorable secretary, SVH Education Society, Innanje in his presidential speech motivated the students to provide compassionate care and to be accountable during their nursing service.

Around 40 students were introduced to the nursing profession through lighting the lamp and the oath-taking. Principal Dr Flavia Castelino administered the oath.

Dr Flavia Castelino, principal, Niraamaya College of Nursing welcomed the dignitaries. Roshini Rodrigues, vice-principal Niraamaya College of Nursing proposed the vote of thanks and Loretta Veena D'Silva, lecturer, Niraamaya College of Nursing compered the event.

Dr Naveen M Ballal, director of Niraamaya Institute of Health Sciences was present on the occasion.
