Bangalore, Jan 2: Even as the ruling BJP in Karnataka is caught in a bitter power struggle between forces led by former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and his opponents who are now led by State BJP President K S Eshwarappa, the ruling party MLA M P Kumaraswamy, representing the Mudigere reserved constituency in Chikmagalur district has threatened to resign his membership of the State Legislative Assembly.

Kumaraswamy, however, has made it clear that he wanted to resign as he was marginalized in the Chikmagalur district unit of BJP.

The two-term BJP MLA, who had defeated the present Congress opposition leader in the Legislative Council and former minister Motamma in the 2008 Assembly polls, went to the extent of submitting his resignation letter to Assembly Secretary Om Prakash in the latter’s office when the Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah was not in the office.

However, the Assembly Secretary P Om Prakash refused to accept the resignation letter and advised the MLA to personally deliver the resignation letter to the Speaker, who would be available on Tuesday.

Kumaraswamy accused the Chikmagalur district BJP Presidnet M K Pranesh for sidelining him in the party affairs in the district.

The MLA told reporters that he has been marginalised in the party and was unhappy about party affairs in the district. He said he would personally handover the resignation letter to the Speaker on Tuesday.

Kumaraswamy said he would be tendering the resignation on his own and not on account of pressure from other leaders.

Which politician is happy in any party he belongs. This is the greed that made them election in any party. After getting elected they want to make money. To make money they want power. So demand for attention like to be a minister, directorship in any board. or chairmanship in any concern. They win election by money made out of illegal mining, sand mining, loot forest, real estate etc., or play caste, community card. Any 33 Cr gods of India will not be able to solve the problem of 1.2 Bln people of India. Who will save India if not the youth will rise and do the revolution.
