Mangalore: Minor Girl Allegedly Raped, Bajrang Dal Activists Thrash Accused

Mangalore, Jan 2: A 24-year-old youth identified as Mushtaq, a resident of Padil in Puttur, allegedly raped a minor girl Sarita (name changed), residing here and studying in 10th standard in a school.

It is gathered that Mushtaq was working as a supervisor in a construction company adjacent to the girl's house and was said to be in love with her. The accused is said to have introduced himself as an engineer at the construction site and proposed to the girl. She believed him, and reciprocated his feelings, and even agreed to elope with him to Bangalore. Sources said that she gave the excuse of going on a picnic with her friends and left home.

On December 30 the girl went to Bangalore with Mushtaq and did not return. Her parents, tensed and worried at her disappearance, filed a missing case in Kadri police station the next day after their search operation went in vain.

It is also alleged that the accused Mushtaq and one of his friends raped the minor in Bangalore.

After three days, Mushtaq on Monday escorted the girl back to her hometown by a bus. It is said that Bajrang Dal activists gathered information about Mushtaq taking the girl back to city in the morning and allegedly stopped the duo.

Bajrang Dal activists belonging to Pumpwell area allegedly thrashed Mushtaq near Kadri. It is also said that even the girl attempted to hit Mushtaq when the activists of Durgavahini (women's wing of Sri Rama Sene) attacked Mushtaq.

Mushtaq is said to be seriously injured and has been admitted in Wenlock hospital. The girl has been taken to Kadri police station and medical test is yet to be done. As the alleged rape is on minor, Child and Women Welfare department is expected to register the case suo moto.

ACP Ravindra Gadadi, DCP Dharmaiah among others were present at the Kadri police station while taking statements from the girl and her parents.

The police have already arrested a few who assaulted Mushtaq.

Dr S Kamath & Mr Bhat. i agree with you that rapists should be given exempalary punishment. but the question is should we preach to others and not practice it ? all the raped girls and womens are our sisters, and they should get justice at any cost. Rape of a minor girl is a Heinous Crime Irrespective of the Caste Creed or Religion .Please dont Comment it is with Consent etc .It is an attack on the Character of a woman which is irrepairable .She Could be our own Daughter or sister .The Police should catch those people and then Punish the rapist before Public Lynch them

1) Face it that the Girl went along with the Guy willingly by lying to her family !!
2)Boy brings the girl back to her hometown ..If anyone would have raped , would have absconded cause they know how jobless the BD are in Mangalore .
3)Girl starts hitting the Guy as a quick thinking to save any explanation and prove innocent to her family members.Do not tell that in Bangalore she could not even find 1 cop to complain.

We beleive in fair trail and appropritae punishment to the rapist as per Indian laws. This is applicable to hindus,christians, sikhs, jains etc.
since muslim's donot believe in common civil code, they should be punished as per their holey shariat law. Shariat prescibes stoning to death the for rapiste, can we stone that rapist to death? If there is a real love between two grown up people nobody have right to stop them be at BD or RamaSene. But here it is reported that its a case of rape and sharing with friends? what does it mean? Is this love or lust?? Where our young generation are heading? These incidents give more scope for birth of BD or RS like institutions. Sorry to say that I never heard a Hindu or Christian guy involving in these kind of practice, why only boys from particular community are more in to this. I hav to tell something to all above guys.
First of all this is a democratic country and we have court to punish a guilty. Because of that We should not punish MLA Raghupathi bhat who reportedly killed his wife and Renukacharya, Who raped a nurse.
But the question is where was Bajarangees and RSS people when these people representatives did such heinous crimes.
Another thing is, in the matter of fact, RSS or BJ never like to fight for the safe of Hindu Girls. Here for them, the guy was not the matter, but his relegion.
They claim that they are protector of this nation. if they are really protectors of this nation why don't they protest against the culprits who carried Margaon blast, Malegaon blast, Mekka Masjid blast. Because it was their people who did these crimes.....
we should always think beyond police reports. Here govt is RSS...how can police hurt them in any sense?

These incidents is not something new, and has happened numerous times and all of us are aware. I would like to raise a few points.
1. These Bajrangis or Durga vahinis or their ilk have no right to take law in theit hands, but we have given them a chance.
2. We cannot blame police for this, as they cannot go about protecting each and every girl, this is not practically possible.
3. Part of the blame must be taken by Mustaqs community. They have to counsel their youngsters to treat women of other communities with respect, just as they prefer their women folk to be protected.

The irony about the above incident is it leads to a sort of justification for the actions of the moral goons such as Bajrangis and Durga Vahinis.

One more suggestion to Bajrangis and Vahinis, to take up social issues like Dowry, corruption, caste system with same vigour and energy!.

Thrashing Mushtaq is an spontaneous reaction to get into limelight and is just the work half done.
BD should follow up the case to ensure that public prosecutor takes the case seriously and justice is done to the victim as per rule of country.
