Bangalore: Yeddyurappa Sets Jan 15 Deadline for BJP Leadership

Bangalore, Jan 2: Sulking former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa on Monday virtually set a deadline for BJP leadership to give him a suitable position, saying he will wait till January 15 for the party to take a decision.

Yeddyurappa, who has been lobbying for a suitable position ever since he was removed from the post of chief minister in August, 2011 on corruption charges, exuded confidence that the BJP high command would take a decision at an "appropriate time" on his demand for which he would wait till January 15.

He told reporters in Bangalore that if need be he would visit Delhi during the second week of this month. "Let me see what will happen. I will wait till January 15," he said.

Yeddyruppa's remark comes amid reports that he might float his own party if the BJP central leadership does not meet his demand by then.

The former chief minister ruled out the prospect of a mid-term poll in the state and asserted that the BJP government would complete its full term, which lasts till 2013.

Earlier, a delegation of BJP MLAs from the city, under the leadership of Home Minister R Ashoka, met Yeddyurappa and pleaded with him not to take any "hasty decision" on his future political course.

Ashoka said they appealed to Yeddyurappa not to leave the party, apparently referring to reports that he might float his own party if the BJP central leadership did not respond to his demand for rehabilitation.

Yeddyurappa was made to quit by the central leadership after he was indicted in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining and replaced by D V Sadananda Gowda, who was considered his loyalist but is now trying to come out of his shadow.

Gowda has been maintaining that he would continue as chief minister till the next assembly elections.

Yedyurappa's loyalists have been insisting that either the party re-instate him as chief minister or make him the state party chief.

Last week, Yeddyurappa and state BJP chief KS Eshwarappa were locked in a war of words over leadership issue.

In an angry outburst, Yeddyurappa has accused Eshwarappa of trying to oust him from the party and even being responsible for sending him to jail.

Eshwarappa had said no position could be given to Yeddyurappa till he came clean in the corruption cases.

Advani is iron man. That is why Yeddi was expelled from CM post. If yeddi keeps troubling like this, he will be expelled from party also. Watch out!!

Chidu was the pin point of 2G scam, but still he is in his post.

There is no doubt that MM Sing is weak PM. He is a utter dumb. Your uneducated, unmatured RAHUL is one more dumb. The Gandhi family completely spoiled him saying he will be the PM of India since his birth. Otherwise he would have studied well and become a good citizen of India.

BSY sat in opposition for forty years. When he was desparate Mr Kumaraswamy lifted him up, ultimatly ended up in Yeddy becoming CM. The power was so sweet, wanted to make as much hay as possible when the sun shined. But others couldnot tolerate, but Yeddy thought Gods and Mutts will keep him in power, and his generous offering to hi-command will keep him in power. But Hegde ruined his life by the report. Now he went to jail like a martir came out on bail like a hero and feels that CM gaddi is his birth right. It will not be surprising if can make it one day. After all it is democracy, Yatha praja thatha Raja.

HATS OFF TO SRIMAAN YEDIYURAPPAJI FOR FIGHTING AGAINST UNJUSTICE.

SRIMAAN YEDIYURAPPAJI NEVER WANTED ANY POSITION BUT THE PEOPLE OF KARNATAKA ALWAYS WANTED HIM TO SEE AS CM.

CENTRAL LEADERSHIP HAS TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS NO BJP WITHOUT SRIMAAN YEDIYURAPPAJI.

I REQUEST THE CENTRAL LEADERSHIP TO REINSTATE HIM AS CM AGAIN.

ITALIAN LED CONGRESS HAS TO PAY THE PRICE FOR ITS CONSPIRACY ON SRIMAAN YEDIYURAPPAJI

THEY DIDN’T ALLOW THE LOKPAL BILL TO BE PASSED IN THE PARLIAMENT. I REQUEST SRIMAAN ANNAJI TO COME FORWARD AND SUPPORT SRIMAAN YEDIYURAPPAJI WHO IS FIGHTING AGAINST THE UNJUSTICE.

KOTI KOTI PRANAAM TO SRIMAAN YEDIYURAPPAJI.

Because of internal politics and money hunger , power hunger people our hard earned money is wasted . Now our EX cm is trying to destabilize Karnataka. he want to bring down DVS and he is playing nasty games. Whatever the internal problems of BJP should be sorted within party without affecting the people. Only one more year is pending for this government and yeddy should allow DVS to work peacefully. Karnataka people are tired of this political games .. All politicians are thinking of personal benefits and not the people.

Yeddyurappa is perennially an opposition leader. Even when he was the Chief Minister, he acted as if he was the opposition leader of Karnataka. No doubt the present Chief Minister cannot be Sada Ananda with Yeddyurappa's often outbursts. Now Eshwarappa must observe Maunavrata to buy peace for the party.

Every day Mr Advanji claims Manmaohan Singh is a weak leader, no guts to take his decison etc.
If he is a iron man let him throw this yeddy out of the party and show to people he has guts to throw weeds from his esteemed party

when things goes to once head, it is wise to follow Indira Ghandi who dumped Devaraj Arasu who was equally famous like Yeddy but who was far better than Yeddy. Even then Arasu new party had a severe and humiliating defeat in the assembly elections thne. Unlike Tamilnadu, in Karnataka people do not hero worship but the Party. Therefore, High command should not cave in for such regular blackmail tactics but stand firm for its larger gain without Yeddy.
