Udupi: Dr H S Ashok relieved as district surgeon

Udupi, Jan 17: The Karnataka government has relieved Dr HS Ashok, district surgeon of Udupi, from his duties and appointed Dr Nityananda Nayak, ophthalmologist, as the in-charge district surgeon.

According to a recent notification, Dr Nayak will serve as the interim district surgeon.

The decision to relieve Dr Ashok was made under Section 68(D) of the Karnataka Civil Services Rules, 1958, highlighting the government's focus on transparency and accountability.

Dr Nayak has assumed his responsibilities immediately to ensure the smooth functioning of the department.
