Mangalore: Idol of Deyi Baideti Installed at Kankanady Garodi

Mangalore, Jan 3: Religious rituals connected with the installation of the idol of Deyi Baideti were performed at Kankanady Sri Brahma Baidarkala Garodi in the city on Monday January 2.
Speaking after presiding over the public function organized on the occasion, former union minister, B Janardhana Poojary, said that the devotees who serve the deities in whom they believe in with total conviction and dedication are sure to succeed in their lives. “We have ample examples in front of us to prove this point,” he added.
Poojary said that the power and potency of this Garodi has got reinforced through the services dedicated by devout followers. He noted that the devotees who enter this Garodi instantly get a sense of fulfillment. He appreciated president of Garodi’s governing council, K Chittaranjan, and his team members, for accomplishing spectacular progress of the Garodi through the inspiration and strength provided by divine powers.
While speaking about the need to follow the ideals preached by Narayana Guru, which he said, has helped people to shun untouchability, join the mainstream and live with respect, he said that Kudroli Lord Gokarnanatheswhara Temple has now taken up the initiative to rid women of the tag of being ominous after the death of their husbands. He felt that installation of the idol of Kinnidare should be undertaken by the Garodi as its next initiative.
Haridas Salian, director of Dix group of concerns, dedicated the shrine of Deyi Baideti to the public. Urmila Ramesh, managing director of Hotel Deepa Comforts, inaugurated Deyi Baideti hall. Devadas, who participated as chief guest, unveiled the plaques depicting the life history of Koti Chennaya.
Mumbai Billava Sangha representatives, Jitendra Suvarna, Sesappa Kotian, and Jagadeep Suvarna, participated as chief guests.
On this occasion, Vasudeva, Poovappa, Koti Poojary, Gangiah, Kuppuswamy, Ashok, and Balakrishna Achar, were felicitated for their meritorious services in various fields. Akshata and Supreeeta, who won eight gold medals each in the power lifting championships held recently at London, were honoured by presenting gold medals and mementos.
President of Garodi governing council, K Chittaranjan, delivered introductory address. B Damodar Nisarga welcomed. Ganesh Amin Sankamar and J Dinesh Anchan presented the programme. Sandeep Salian proposed vote of thanks.
