Udupi, Jan 18: Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K Vidykumari and superintendent of police K. Arun inspected the ongoing construction of the Indrali Railway Bridge on January 18. The officials directed the concerned authorities to expedite the work and complete the project as soon as possible.
Previously, district officials had visited the site and instructed authorities to extend the deadline by one month to facilitate faster progress.
The bridge construction, which began seven years ago, has experienced repeated delays. Originally scheduled for completion by January 15, the project deadline was extended to January 25 due to slow progress.
During the inspection, the DC and SP stressed the need for swift action to avoid further inconvenience to commuters. The vehicular bridge is crucial for local traffic and has drawn attention for missing its stipulated timelines.
Authorities have been urged to ensure the project's timely completion to enhance connectivity and ease transportation challenges in the region.
