Udupi: MLA Yashpal Suvarna discusses traffic management at Kalsanka Junction with DC

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Jan 18: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna met with District Commissioner Dr Vidya Kumari to address concerns over the traffic restrictions at Kalsanka Junction.

Suvarna urged the district administration to reconsider its decision and restore the previous smooth traffic flow, highlighting the challenges faced by the public due to the barricades installed at the junction.

The current arrangement redirects vehicles from Ambagilu towards Kunjibettu and Kadri through the city bus stand, leading to significant inconvenience.

Following guidelines from the police department, the municipal council has already initiated steps to install traffic signals at the junction to streamline traffic flow.

However, the diversion has led to severe traffic congestion near Kunjibettu and the city bus stand, causing difficulties for residents, including students commuting to schools and colleges, senior citizens, and visitors to Kadri temple. Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, MLA Suvarna demanded immediate action to ensure smoother traffic movement.

The meeting was attended by CMC president Prabhakar Poojary, council members Girish Anchan, and local leaders Vishnu Prasad Padigar, Satish Kulal, Shashidhar Bhat, Chandrakant, Umesh Pai, Raj Jattanna, and Narasimha Kini.
