Udupi, Jan 19: The Navadurga Lekhana Yajna Sankalpa programme, organized as part of the Kapu Sri Hosa Marigudi Temple renovation activities, was held today at the Jagannath Sabha Bhavan of the Badagabettu Credit Co-operative Society. The event was conducted in collaboration with Badagabettu Credit Co-operative Society, Udupi Industrial Co-operative Society, Gurunithyananda Credit Co-operative Society, and Udupi Housing Co-operative Society.
The programme began with nine representatives from various co-operative organizations lighting the ceremonial Navadeepa lamps and offering prayers to the deity. The president of Badagabettu Society, Jayakar Shetty Indrali, delivered the welcome address and provided an overview of the event.
Manohar S Shetty, vice president of the Kapu Hosa Marigudi Temple Development Committee, highlighted the miraculous presence and blessings of Kapu Mariyamma. K Raghupathi Bhat, president of the Navadurga Lekhana Yajna Committee, elaborated on the significance, procedure, and benefits of conducting the Lekhana Yajna.
The programme was graced by Geetanjali Suvarna, chief women coordinator of the Navadurga Lekhana Yajna Committee, along with key dignitaries, including Rajesh Hegde (general manager, Udupi Industrial Co-operative Society), Rajesh Shetty (general manager, Gurunithyananda Credit Co-operative Society), and Ashok Bhat (general manager, Udupi Housing Co-operative Society). Members of the management boards, staff, and participants from the co-operative organizations were present in large numbers.
Praveen Kumar, assistant general manager of Badagabettu Society, efficiently compered the event, while the general manager, Rajesh V Sherigar, concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.
