Mangaluru: Vilma D’Souza awarded with doctorate in mathematics

Mangaluru, Jan 20: Vilma D’Souza, assistant professor, department of mathematics, AJ Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru, has been awarded doctor of philosophy in mathematics for her thesis titled ‘A Study of I-functions with Applications”, by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi.

The outcomes of her research have been published in prestigious international mathematical journals. The research was carried out under the mentorship of Dr Shantha Kumari K, professor and head, department of mathematics, AJ Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru.

She is the wife of Dr Jeevan Pinto, head, department of MCA, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru.
