Mangaluru, Jan 20: The seventh multiplex under the Bharath Cinemas banner was officially inaugurated on Monday, January 20, at Beary’s Turning Point in Deralakatte.
The grand opening ceremony was graced by prominent personalities, including Director Balakrishna Shetty, Anand Pai, Sudheer Pai, Subraya Pai, Venkatesh Pai, Sudha B Shetty (wife of Anand Pai), Dr Vindhya Pai, and Siddiqui Beary, the owner of Beary’s Turning Point.
Deralakatte now joins the list of locations hosting Bharath Cinemas, alongside Mangaluru, Puttur, Udupi, Padubidri, Kundapur, and Manipal. The newly inaugurated multiplex offers a state-of-the-art setup, featuring 639 seats across four screens, all equipped with advanced 2K laser technology to provide an immersive cinematic experience.
Addressing the gathering, Balakrishna Shetty highlighted Bharath Cinemas' growth journey and said, “We currently operate 28 screens across seven locations in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Mangaluru was the site of our first multiplex, which opened on March 26, 2006. Moving forward, we are taking over an old screen in Sullia and converting it into three screens. Additionally, plans are underway for new multiplexes in Karkala and Bhatkal. The newly opened multiplex at Deralakatte features luxurious seating arrangements with generous spacing between rows, while excelling in design, acoustics, and specifications.”
A Puja ritual was performed prior to the inauguration.
