Mangaluru: MRPL flags off its first toluene parcel

Mangaluru, Jan 20: The first truck parcel of Toluene from Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) was flagged off by Shri Mundkur Shyamprasad Kamath, managing director of MRPL, at the Aromatic Complex within the Mangalore Special Economic Zone Limited (MSEZL).

The event was graced by the presence of Nandakumar Velayudhan Pillai, director (Refinery), BHV Prasad, executive director (Projects), B Sudarshan, executive director (Refinery) Yogish Nayak S, CFO and other senior officers of MRPL, marking a significant milestone in the company's journey towards achieving self-reliance in chemical production.

The launch of MRPL’s Toluene product was recently launched by the minister of petroleum and natural gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, during his visit to the refinery. MRPL’s entry into Toluene production is a pivotal move toward reducing India’s dependency on imports and strengthening the nation's industrial and economic development. This aligns with the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
