Bangalore, Jan 3: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and State JD(S) President H D Kumaraswamy accused ruling BJP of playing a role in the filing of a private complaint against him regarding alleged irregularities in denotifiying 3.8 acres for a residential layout, which has now been referred to a probe by the Lokayukta Special Court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao.

The JD(S) leader alleged Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda’s Political Secretary B J Puttaswamy had secured copies from various departments to facilitate filing of the complaint and had also released some documents to back the claims.

''The private complaint filed against me in the Lokayukta Special Court is totally false and nothing but an vindictive act after I exposed corruption in BJP government, especially during the regime of previous Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa,” Kumaraswamy claimed.

''Whatever I have exposed so far is only the tip of the iceberg. I will expose more major scams,” he said.

The Lokayukta Court had on Monday referred the private complaint filed by Madhuswamy regarding the alleged action of denotification of 3.8 acres of land in Thanisandra village in 2007 during Kumaraswamy-led JD(S)-BJP coalition regime even though the land had been acquired by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for forming a residential sites in the Arkavathy Layout.

Kumaraswamy said he did not want to comment on the court order passed by Lokayukta Special Court Judge Sudhindra Rao directing the Lokayukta SP to probe to complaint under Section 156/3 of CrPC and submit a report by February 6 and made it clear that he would challenge it.

The JD(S) leader strongly defended the denotification as no sites had been formed in it and BDA had also not passed the final award.

Kumaraswamy also contended that former minister C Chennigappa, forest minister in the JD(S)-BJP coalition regime and an accused in the complaint, had no role in the denotification of land. It may be recalled that Chennigappa had joined the BJP and returned to JD(S) later.
