Udupi, Jan 20: The Udupi district administration has issued a warning to the public regarding a fake pamphlet circulating on social media, which falsely claims to offer state and central government loan facilities.
The pamphlet, shared widely across social media platforms over the past two days, includes only a phone number and lacks any details about the organization or its address, raising concerns over its authenticity.
In response to the growing circulation of the pamphlet, the district administration issued a press release cautioning the public.
The administration stated, "It has been observed that these activities are being carried out without obtaining official authorization from the appropriate authorities."
The release further pointed out that the pamphlet does not provide any information about the organisation’s name or address, which casts doubt on its legitimacy.
The administration advised the public not to engage with the pamphlet, share any personal information, or enter into any transactions with the individuals involved.
"If anyone chooses to proceed despite the warning, the district administration will not be held responsible for any consequences," the statement added.
Residents are urged to report any suspicious activities to local authorities and rely on official government channels for information on legitimate loan facilities.
