Mangaluru, Jan 22: Feast of St Agnes was celebrated on January 21 at St Agnes High School with great devotion. The programme was hosted by class 8A. The programme began with a serene prayer service, focusing on the virtues like sacrifice, purity, faith and courage upheld by St Agnes.
The significance of the school emblem, the ideals and principles such as truth, courage and dedication, were explained. A skit titled ‘then and now’ performed by the students, creatively depicted the changes in the societal values over the time. It was enacted with a blend of humour and thought-provoking dialogues.
This was followed by vibrant and graceful dance performances by the boys’s group and the girls’s group for Kannada songs entertained the students. An animated video on the life of St Agnes was played on the occasion.
Dimple Quadros congratulated Prathima K B and the students for the meaningful programme. She asked the students to carry the legacy of St Agnes by narrating stories of hard work of Saurav Kumar and Sindhoora Raj. Prime Minister’s child award winners.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Manikanta. Anushri and Thanush compered the programme. Class teacher Prathima planned and trained the students of class VIII A for the systematic presentation of the feast.
