Hyderabad, Jan 23: In a shocking incident, a man from Hyderabad has confessed to murdering his wife, dismembering her body, and attempting to dispose of the remains by cooking them in a pressure cooker. The accused, 45-year-old Guru Murthy, made these disturbing revelations during a police investigation after his wife, Venkata Madhavi, aged 35, was reported missing on January 16.

According to reports, the police began to suspect the husband during their investigation. Upon being questioned, he admitted to the crime. As per his confession, he killed his wife, chopped her body in the bathroom, and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker. Over three days, he separated the bones, ground them using a pestle, and repeatedly boiled them. The remains were allegedly packed and dumped into Meerpet Lake.

Guru Murthy, a former soldier now employed as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), was married to Venkata Madhavi, with whom he has two children—a boy and a girl.

Sources indicate that the couple frequently quarreled, though the exact motive and details of the crime remain unclear. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details and verify the claims.

This incident has left the local community in shock, highlighting the need for further examination into the circumstances that led to this heinous act.
