Udupi: Beggar sexually harasses five-year-old girl, minister orders swift action

Udupi, Jan 25: A five-year-old girl was sexually harassed by a beggar in Udupi. The incident occurred in the heart of the city and was captured on local CCTV footage. The beggar was seen luring the child with chocolates, taking her to a nearby footpath, and sexually harassing her.

The girl was playing outside her parents' shop with another child when the incident occurred. The matter came to light when her friend returned, searching for her. The child then informed her parents about the incident, leading to a complaint being filed at the Udupi women's police station.

The accused remains at large, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.

District in-charge minister Laxmi Hebbalkar has condemned the incident and instructed authorities to take swift action. Following the incident, the Udupi in-charge minister contacted the police superintendent and the Udupi deputy commissioner, urging immediate measures. She directed the officials to arrest the accused without delay and emphasized ensuring full support for the child in every possible way.

    A big crime.Parents should be careful with their children.If he is a mentally sick or only acting so to hide away his real crime or ambition?Begging should be banned ,.Of course a few are not real beggers ,but see chances to robbing or crimes like this.

    Nowadays we can see many beggars are not handicapped .They can work to earn daily bread instead they beg because they lazy to work.Some ladies carry a child and start begging inside the bus .They earn every bus minimum Rs.100 .In a day they earn more than thousand .We must avoid giving money to those people instead give to the people handicapped or cant work .
