Kasargod, Jan 26: Udaya Higher Secondary School, Manjeshwar, celebrated Parents' Day on January 17, with a formal programme followed by a cultural presentation.
The event was graced by Fr Basil Vas, parish priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Vorkady, who emphasised that parents should be role models for their children. Mohammed Jasir, an alumnus, shared fond memories of his school days and thanked principal Jerald Ivan Crasta for being an instrumental figure in his academic success.
Dr Leo Lasrado, the programme president, appreciated the school’s efforts in maintaining a balance between curricular and extracurricular activities, noting that Udaya Higher Secondary School stands equal among the 40 schools under the CBE.
Principal Jerald Ivan Crasta welcomed the gathering, while Fr Santhosh D’Souza, campus director, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme also saw the presence of ward members Mohammed Siddiq and PTA vice-president Reshma Monteiro on stage.
The event concluded with a vibrant cultural programme, showcasing the talents of students from each class. The proceedings were expertly handled by emcees Justin Monteiro (7th grade) and Izzah Khadeeja (6th grade).
It was a memorable day that celebrated the strong bond between parents and the school community.
