Mangaluru, Jan 28: In a commendable act of honesty, Vijayakumar Rai, a resident of Panjala near Kumble, returned gold ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lac to their rightful owner after they were accidentally left behind at an engagement ceremony. The owners expressed their gratitude by honouring him with a cash reward during a special programme.

After finding the gold ornaments, Vijayakumar Rai waited patiently at the venue, hoping the owner would return to claim them. As anticipated, Kiran Shetty, who had lost his child’s ornaments, came back to the location searching for the valuables. Vijayakumar Rai approached him, verified the ownership by asking for specific details about the gold, and then handed over the ornaments.

Deeply moved by the honesty, Kiran Shetty later invited Vijayakumar Rai to a programme organized by Yuvashakti at Durgapura, near Kinya, Talapady. During the event, Vijayakumar Rai was honoured with a cash reward and recognition for his integrity.
