Tragedy in Burari: Two dead, several feared trapped as four-storey building collapses

New Delhi, Jan 28: At least two people have lost their lives after a four-storey building collapsed in north Delhi’s Burari area on Monday evening. Several others are feared trapped under the debris as rescue operations continue.

According to police, the incident occurred near Oscar Public School, where a newly constructed building came crashing down. Emergency responders rushed to the site immediately after receiving information at around 7 pm.

“So far, two people have been found dead, and 12 have been rescued,” a police officer said, adding that efforts are underway to locate any more individuals who may be trapped.

The collapsed structure was reportedly built on a 200-square-yard plot, and authorities are investigating the cause of the incident. Meanwhile, rescue teams, including the Delhi Fire Services and disaster response personnel, are working tirelessly to clear the rubble and ensure the safety of those affected.
