Udupi, Jan 29: A multiple-vehicle accident occurred on Wednesday, January 29 evening near Thenka Yermal on National Highway 66. The collision involved two cars and a school bus, causing the bus to overturn.

A car traveling from Udupi towards Mangaluru hit a woman and then flipped over in the middle of the highway. Simultaneously, a school bus, which was returning after dropping off students and heading towards Kaup Chandranagar, collided with the overturned car.

Due to the impact, the school bus crossed the divider and overturned on the Mangaluru-bound lane. Meanwhile, an Innova traveling towards Mangaluru also collided with another car.

Fortunately, the accident resulted in only minor injuries to the drivers of the three vehicles. Since there were no students on the school bus at the time, a potential tragedy was averted. Toll staff assisted in lifting the bus using a crane.

Padubidri police arrived at the spot and conducted an inspection of the accident site.
