Mangaluru, Jan 30: The department of commerce at St Agnes College (Autonomous) organized an educational tour to Dandeli, Gokarna, and Murudeshwar from January 21 to 23. A total of 44 students from the B Com ACCA and B Com professional programmes, along with two staff members, participated in the trip.
On the first day the students visited the Supa Dam in Dandeli which is the tallest dam in Karnataka. The students also engaged in thrilling rope activities, adding an element of excitement to the trip. The student resided at the Tusker Trail Resort in Dandeli, where they enjoyed the resort's amenities, including a rain dance and a campfire.
On the second day students visited the renowned Mahabaleshwara Temple in Gokarna, a significant pilgrimage site.They enjoyed the scenic beauty of Gokarna Beach and indulged in some exciting street shopping, experiencing the vibrant local culture.The highlight of the trip was a visit to the magnificent Murudeshwara Temple, famous for its towering Shiva statue. Students marveled at the architectural grandeur of the temple complex and enjoyed panoramic views from the surrounding areas.
Witnessing the beauty of the natural world in Dandeli fostered a deeper appreciation for nature and the importance of conservation within the students. Visiting the temples in Gokarna and Murudeshwara provided students with valuable insights into Indian history and architecture. The unique architectural styles of these ancient structures offered a glimpse into the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the region. Furthermore, interacting with locals and observing their daily lives offered a firsthand experience of local traditions and cultural practices, fostering a deeper understanding of the diverse tapestry of Indian culture.
