Dubai: Huge Response for Pamboor Sevens Cricket Tournament

Dubai, Jan 8: The much-awaited Pamboor Sevens Cricket Tournament has received overwhelming response, said the Pamboor Welfare Association in Dubai.

Winny Alva, president of the Association said, “We are very pleased that so many leading cricket teams have confirmed their entries for the grand tournament. We have just a couple of slots left now which will be filled up shortly. A great day’s cricket feast is assured for all cricket lovers and all are welcome.”

The entries are almost complete now and any of the teams who have not confirmed yet are requested to hurry up and hand in their entries at Winny’s Restaurant (Tel: 3358060) in Karama.

The day-long tournament taking place on Friday February 10 at the Zabeel Park cricket ground in Karama will see some of UAE’s top cricket teams playing in the fast paced seven-a-side format. There will be 24 teams taking part and the first match will start at 7.30 am, said the organizers.

A huge crowd of cricket lovers is expected along with their families and children at the Zabeel Park, making it a picnic-like atmosphere. Winners will take home the attractive Winny’s Restaurant trophy and a cash prize of Dhs 3000 and the runners up will get a trophy and cash prize of Dhs 2000 apart from trophies for the best performers in the finals.
