Bantwal, Feb 2: A major fire erupted at the rubber estate in Sarpadi Munchikaadu, Albukark Estate, following a short circuit in an electric transformer. The blaze consumed nearly half an acre of rubber trees.
The Bantwal fire department acted swiftly to control the fire, and no casualties were reported in the incident.
However, a significant portion of the rubber plantation was completely destroyed.
