The Karnataka Flag is the combination of Red and Yellow colours(shanthi and Kranthi). I do not know its legal status. But it is accepted by everyone including our politicians. Not only in Bangalore it is found everywhere in the state including Mangalore. You will find this flag in all our cultural/language fests including kannada and Tulu. Even kannadigas in other countries use this flag as symbol of mark..

    Regarding Karnataka Flag:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kannada_flag says - "The flag is not officially or unofficially the Karanataka Flag. The flag does not have any legal status". I have seen the flag in Bangalore but not in Mangalore.
