Highly anticipated Tulu film 'Meera' to hit screens on Feb 21

Mangaluru, Feb 5: Under the banner of Astra Productions, the much-awaited Tulu film ‘Meera’, produced by Lanchu Lal K S and directed by Ashwath, is all set for a nationwide release on February 21. The announcement was made by producer Lanchu Lal K S during a press conference.

Meera, a milestone in the Tulu film industry, marks the first female-centric Tulu movie. The film features Ishita Shetty in the lead role, supported by popular Coastalwood actors Aravind Bolar, Swaraj Shetty, J P Thuminadu, Prakash Thuminadu, Manju Rai Mooduru, Roopashree Vorkady, Yatish Poojary, and Baby Lakshya L. Additionally, Mumbai-based Tulu blogger and actress Rakshitha Shetty is debuting in this film, along with numerous other talents from the coastal region.





Ashwath has crafted the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film, promising an impactful narrative. The movie has been beautifully shot by DOP Ajay K S, with editing by Jobins Sebastian and music by Raju Jayaprakash. Notably, the lyrics were penned by Jayaprakash Kaleri, while the DI department was led by Liju Prabhakar of Bhramayugam fame. Advanced SFX and mixing were managed by Unity Studios, while Jithin Kumble served as the assistant director. Jay Suvarna handled makeup, and Bal Jagannath Shetty managed PR activities.

The movie features five songs performed by acclaimed South Indian playback singers, including the notable Madhubalakrishna. Breaking new ground, Meera incorporates AI technology for a song, a first for Tulu cinema.

Revolving around the life of a young woman navigating challenges to achieve her dreams, Meera delivers an inspiring social message and resonates deeply with women's empowerment. Filmed across Mangaluru, Kateel, Kasargod, Seethangoli, Kumbla, and other coastal regions, the movie promises to leave a lasting impact on audiences with its compelling storyline and strong performances.

Director Ashwath, actress Ishita Shetty, music composer Raju Jayaprakash, actor Yatish Poojary, assistant director Jithin Kumble, and actor Charan C R B were present at the press conference.

With its combination of powerful storytelling, stellar performances, and a socially relevant message, Meera is expected to set a new benchmark in Tulu cinema.
