Bantwal, Feb 5: Thieves broke into Kalladka Super Bazaar on Tuesday, February 4, in the night, stealing Rs 58,000 in cash and ransacking the store.

The burglars smashed the shutter of the shop, owned by Ansar from Tokottu’s Kalapu, and emptied drawers while scattering goods across the premises.

The store, located next to the busy Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway, raised an alarm as the crime occurred despite continuous nighttime traffic. This theft follows a similar robbery at K T Hotel in the area just three months ago, heightening concerns among locals.

A complaint has been lodged at the Bantwal City police station, and an investigation is underway.
