Udupi, Feb 14 : Dr T M A Pai Hospital, Udupi, has introduced advanced hearing and balance tests to help diagnose and treat hearing loss and balance problems. The department of speech and hearing now offers Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) and Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (VEMP) tests, which provide a detailed assessment of hearing and balance-related issues.
ABR test checks how well the hearing nerve and brain respond to sound. It is useful in detecting hearing loss and nerve-related hearing problems. VEMP test evaluates the inner ear’s balance system. It helps doctors diagnose conditions like vertigo, dizziness, and balance disorders such as Meniere’s disease and vestibular migraines.
