Mangaluru, Feb 19: Carmel School CBSE, Kotekar, celebrated World Pulses Day on February 10, with great enthusiasm and vibrancy. The event, orchestrated by class 1B, commenced with a solemn prayer, setting a reflective tone, followed by a captivating welcome dance that infused energy into the gathering.

The esteemed chief guest, Dr Swathi Rao, a distinguished pediatrician, was warmly introduced to the audience. The significance of World Pulses Day was eloquently articulated by Raish Razak, Sharvi S, and Hanika, shedding light on the nutritional and environmental benefits of pulses.

Adding a creative touch, the young learners enthralled the audience with an engaging action song and an entertainment dance. The highlight of the programme was an insightful skit, skillfully performed by the students, reinforcing the importance of a balanced diet and the role of pulses in promoting good health.

Dr Swathi Rao delivered a thought-provoking address, emphasizing the essential role of pulses in maintaining a nutritious and well-balanced diet. She urged everyone to incorporate pulses into their daily meals for a healthier lifestyle.

The event concluded on a note of gratitude with a vote of thanks, delivered by Lizan, Alvisha, and Daniyal. Ensuring the smooth flow of the programme, Amina and Preyon served as the masters of ceremony with commendable confidence.

The celebration was further enriched by the gracious presence of Sr Pramila D'Souza, AC, principal; Sr Anitha D'Souza, AC, vice principal; and Sr Ashwina, AC, coordinator, who lauded the efforts of both students and teachers in organizing the event. Entirely led by the students, the programme was a testament to their creativity, leadership, and organizational skills, making the celebration both educational and inspiring.
