Rae Bareli, Feb 21: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani on the second day of his visit to Rae Bareli. Addressing a Youth Samvad programme in Lalganj near the Modern Rail Coach Factory, he reiterated his statement on BSP chief Mayawati, saying that if she had joined the INDI alliance, BJP could not have come to power at the Centre.
Mayawati hit back at Rahul Gandhi, alleging that Congress holds an extreme "hatred and racist attitude" towards BSP and its followers in states where it is strong. She also accused Congress of acting as BJP’s "B-team" in the Delhi elections to defeat AAP.

Targeting the government, Rahul Gandhi claimed that only a few big industrialists are benefiting under Modi's rule, leading to rising unemployment. Referring to Modi’s visit to the U.S., he said, “PM Modi meets Donald Trump, and when American journalists ask about Adani, he calls it a personal matter instead of discussing it with the US President. A corruption case is going on against Adani in America, but the PM refuses to address it.”
He also criticized demonetization and GST, stating that small traders are suffering. “To tackle unemployment, we need to protect small traders, reform the GST system, and ensure banks support them,” he added.
During his visit, Rahul Gandhi inspected the Modern Rail Coach Factory, lauding its record production even as global and national manufacturing declines. He spent nearly an hour at the facility, appreciating its achievements.
