Bantwal, Feb 23: In a shocking case, fake Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials raided a businessman’s house in Bolanthoor, Vittal, and made off with lakhs of rupees. Police have now arrested another accused, bringing the total to eight.

The latest suspect, Abdul Naseer (52) from Kannur, Kerala, allegedly facilitated the raid by acting as a link between the local accused, Sirajuddin, and the mastermind ASI. Sirajuddin, frustrated with his employer at the Singari Beedi factory, had quit and threatened to file a false ED complaint for revenge.

Naseer is accused of organising the entire fake raid, with police uncovering the key role he played in executing the crime.

Earlier, police arrested several individuals, including former ASI Shafiir Babu (48), Iqbal (38), Sirajuddin Narsh (37), Ansar (27), Anil Fernandes (49), Sachin T.S. (29), and Shabin S. (27).
