New Delhi, Feb 24: In a tribute to the "indomitable power of women," Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over his social media accounts to women achievers on March 8, International Women’s Day. The initiative aims to showcase their struggles, achievements, and inspirational journeys, amplifying the message of women empowerment.

During his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, Modi announced that women who have carved a niche for themselves in various fields will share their experiences through his social media platforms. "The platform might be mine, but it will be about their experiences, challenges, and achievements," he stated.

To participate, women achievers can apply through a special forum on the NaMo App. Selected individuals will get an opportunity to share their inspiring stories via Modi’s X and Instagram accounts, which are among the most followed globally.

This initiative follows a similar move in 2020, when seven women achievers took over the Prime Minister’s social media to highlight their transformative journeys.

Modi also paid tribute to the role of women in India's freedom struggle and the making of the Constitution. An audio clip of Hansa Mehta, one of the 15 women members of the Constituent Assembly, was played during the address, recalling her historic words while presenting the national flag: "It is in the fitness of things that this first flag that will fly over this august house should be a gift from the women of India."

The move is expected to inspire millions, reinforcing the significance of women’s contributions across diverse fields.
