Udupi: Burglars target government employees' homes for second day

Udupi, Feb 25: Burglars continued their spree in Udupi, targeting government employees' homes for a second consecutive day. Three MESCOM officers' residences in the Kunjibettu staff quarters were broken into.

The thieves, who entered through broken locks, struck locked houses. One burglary occurred at the Hare Rama Residential Complex, where another MESCOM employee’s home was looted.

In a separate incident, a junior engineer from Konkan Railway was also targeted. Stolen goods, including three watches and a silver coin, were valued at Rs 15,000.

A dog squad and fingerprint experts have been dispatched to investigate. A case has been registered at the Udupi town police station.
