Kaup, Feb 26: Kaup police have arrested two youths in connection with an attempted ATM robbery in Udyavar on February 12.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Abubakkar Siddique (24), from Asaigoli, Manjanady, Mangaluru, and Mohammad Yaseen (21), from Kannur, Mangaluru.
The incident occurred around 2:40 am on February 12 when the two suspects were captured on CCTV attempting to break open the ATM of a nationalised bank. Their attempt was thwarted, and the police promptly launched an investigation.


Following the inquiry, Kaup police registered a case and formed a special team to track down the suspects. The team, led by Kapu Circle Inspector Jayashree S Mane, along with Padubidri PSI Anil Kumar T. Naik, Kapu PSI Ramesh Naik, and police personnel Mohanachandra, Basavaraj, Gurupadayya, Prasad, Padubidri ASI Rajesh, Sandesh, Siddaray, and Jeevan from Shirva police station, successfully apprehended the accused.
During the arrest, the police seized several items, including a scooter (KA-19-HQ-7717), a jacket, a helmet, a cap, hand gloves, a machete, a hammer, and a bag used in the crime.
Both suspects have been taken into custody, and further investigations are currently underway.
