Kadaba, Feb 28: In a shocking incident, students of Alankar Government Higher Primary School vandalized school property, including a flower pot and other belongings, during broad daylight on February 26, coinciding with Maha Shivaratri.

The students damaged the school's flower pot, flowering plants, and volleyball net. They also scattered garbage from the dustbin and uprooted a papaya plant. The school notice board was also defaced. Additionally, they cut down a banana tree sheath and threw it within the school premises, scattering the bananas all around. The miscreants even broke a tap in the school toilet.

Although it was a holiday, the headmaster was present at the school until noon before leaving for Puttur on official work. The act of vandalism took place in his absence. Members of the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC), teachers, and villagers visited the school to assess the damage.
