Puttur: Two killed, driver critically injured as auto-rickshaw collides with KSRTC bus

Puttur, Mar 3: In a tragic accident, two people were killed, and the driver was critically injured when an auto-rickshaw collided with a KSRTC bus on the Mani-Mysuru National Highway at Manjalpadpu on the outskirts of Puttur on Sunday evening.

The KSRTC bus was en route from Mangaluru to Puttur when the auto-rickshaw, driven by Mohammad from Kedambadi village, hit the bus while heading from Puttur towards Kabaka.

The impact of the collision caused the auto-rickshaw to overturn, leading to the death of Mohammad’s wife, Jameela (49), and her grandson, Tapsib (5), who were travelling in the vehicle. The driver, Mohammad, sustained serious injuries in the accident.

A case has been registered at the Puttur traffic police station regarding the incident.
