Patna, Mar 3: The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) on Sunday inaugurated the men’s senior one-day trophy, a major domestic tournament providing a platform for players to showcase their talent.
BCA president Rakesh Tiwari stated that selectors will closely monitor performances to identify emerging talent for Bihar’s senior team. The tournament features teams from across the state, divided into eight zones: Western, Mithila, Shahabad, Magadh, Pataliputra, Angika, Central, and Seemanchal. The league stage, comprising 72 matches, will run until March 13, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the grand finale.

The opening match saw East Champaran take on Saran at JP Sinha Cricket Stadium, Vaishali. Tiwari emphasized that the tournament is crucial in raising Bihar’s cricketing standards and providing young players with ample opportunities to shine.
Meanwhile, the BCA has also announced the squad for the upcoming U-23 women’s one-day BCCI domestic tournament 2024-25. Yashita Singh has been named captain, with Preeti Kumari as her deputy in the 20-member squad.
