Davanagere, Mar 3: Deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar is set to become the chief minister by December, according to Congress MLA Basavaraju V. Shivaganga.
Speaking to the media in Davanagere on Sunday, MLA Basavaraju expressed unwavering confidence in Shivakumar's leadership. "Mark my words—Shivakumar will be the chief minister by December. I am so certain that I could write it in my blood. He will lead the government effectively and secure a full-term win in the next assembly election," he declared.

Basavaraju predicted that Shivakumar would serve as chief minister for the next 7.5 years, emphasizing his pivotal role in the Congress party’s recent successes in both state assembly and Lok Sabha elections. "Shivakumar's hard work has resulted in 75 to 80 first-time MLAs being elected. He is indispensable to the party, and we will push the high command to appoint him as the chief minister," he added.
He also demanded disciplinary action against cooperation minister K N Rajanna, accusing him of damaging the party's image with his remarks against Shivakumar.
