Mangaluru: 'Musical Dhamaka 99' concert held

Mangaluru, Mar 3: Celebrated singer Leo Ranipura, known for his dedication to social service through music, was honoured at the ‘Musical Dhamaka 99’ concert organised by the Leo Charitable Trust (Regd) at the Sandesha Kala Kendra auditorium in Bajjodi, Mangaluru.

Presiding over the event, Fr Dominic Vas, parish priest of Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi, praised Leo Ranipura’s remarkable journey, stating, “His ability to serve society through music while staying connected to his mother tongue is truly commendable.”

During the event, internationally renowned singer Meena Rebimbus, affectionately known as ‘Konkani Maina’, was honoured with the prestigious title ‘Millennium Maina’ for her immense contributions to the music industry. She has composed and sung thousands of songs, winning the hearts of millions worldwide.

The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests, including Joseph Elias Menezes, director of Fortune Life Wealth Pvt Ltd, Delhi, and PTI consultant from Bombay; Rons Bantwal, president of the Karnataka Journalists' Association, Maharashtra; Joan Wilson Lobo, managing director of Sookth Media Network; and Francis Fernandes Cassia, a prominent Konkani playwright, director, actor, and comedy king.

Leo Ranipura, the founder and trustee of the Leo Charitable Trust, co-convener Stanley Bantwal, joint secretary Alwyn Prashanth, treasurer Roshan Crasta, and trustee Mabel D’Cunha also graced the occasion.

Secretary Liston D'Souza welcomed the gathering, while Raviraj D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks. Roshan Crasta and Preetham compered the event.

A vibrant musical performance followed, featuring around ten talented artistes, leaving the audience mesmerised.
