Bantwal, Mar 4: The Catechism Day celebration at St Antony Church, Allipade, commenced with the Holy Eucharistic celebration. The Mass was celebrated by the parish priest, Fr Robert D'Souza, who also delivered a reflective homily based on the Bible readings and importance of Sunday catechism. The liturgy was led by the students of the Sunday Catechism.
A brief Eucharistic adoration was held with the following special intentions: For the Holy Pope's speedy recovery, for the students appearing for their exams and for the personal intentions of the people.





























Br Ajay D’Souza was honoured for his dedicated Sunday ministry at Allipade parish. The Catechism teachers were presented with a token of appreciation as a gesture of love and gratitude for their selfless service.
Cultural programme
The formal programme began with the 10th Std. students invoking God's blessings. The retired catechism teachers of the parish were the esteemed guests, including: Benedicta Fernandes, Benedicta Pais, Concepta Noronha.
Deepti D'Souza, the Sunday catechism coordinator, warmly welcomed the gathering. Ishal Misquit (YCS) shared her experiences of Sunday catechism on behalf of the students. Sannth Veigas expressed his experiences as a catechism teacher. Benedicta Fernandes the chief guest, shared her journey as a catechism teacher and encouraged the students and parents to take up Sunday catechism seriously.
Fr Robert D'Souza, the parish priest appreciated the dedication of the teachers, students and parents for their unwavering support and guidance.
Cultural performances
The students performed inspiring cultural programme focusing on Biblical themes and the Christian faith. The awards and prizes were distributed for top scorers in Catechism exams, 100% attendance and best workbook.
The event was graced by the presence of Naveen Moras, vice president, parish pastoral council, Kiran Noronha, secretary, parish pastoral council, John Walder, coordinator of commissions, Renny Fernandes, coordinator, small Christian community, Sr Lavina Veigas and Br Ajay D'Souza. The programme was expertly compered by Lavisha D'Souza. A heartfelt vote of thanks was proposed by Calvina Lobo.
The Catechism Day celebration was a beautiful blend of faith, fellowship and gratitude, creating a vibrant atmosphere of the community spirit and devotion.
