Kolkata, Mar 5: In a shocking turn of events, Kolkata Police have arrested two relatives in connection with the tragic triple suicide case that has sent shockwaves across the city. The arrests were made on charges of abetment of suicide following the recovery of three bodies from a residence in the upscale Kasba area.
According to police sources, the deceased—a woman and her two daughters—were found dead under suspicious circumstances. The initial investigation suggests that extreme mental distress and alleged family disputes may have led to the tragic incident.

Kolkata Police confirmed that the two arrested individuals are closely related to the victims and were allegedly involved in acts of harassment, which may have pushed the mother and daughters to take the extreme step.
Sources revealed that the family had been embroiled in a prolonged conflict over financial and personal matters. Statements from neighbors and relatives indicate that tensions had been escalating for several months, leading to frequent altercations.
A senior police official stated, “We have gathered substantial evidence, including digital communications and statements from neighbors, which suggest that the accused played a role in mentally harassing the victims. Based on our preliminary findings, we have arrested two individuals under relevant sections of the IPC for abetment of suicide.”
Investigators have also recovered a suicide note from the scene, which is being examined for further leads. The forensic team has collected crucial evidence from the house, and the autopsy reports are awaited to ascertain the exact cause of death.
The incident has sparked outrage, with women's rights activists and social organizations calling for a thorough probe into the circumstances leading to the deaths.
Further investigations are underway as police continue questioning family members and associates to uncover the complete picture behind the tragic loss of three lives.
