Three CRPF Jawans injured in IED blast during search operation in Jharkhand

Chaibasa, Mar 5: Three CRPF jawans sustained injuries in an IED blast during a search operation in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district on Wednesday, officials said.

According to police, the incident occurred at Baliwa in the Saranda forests under Manoharpur police station limits when personnel of the 197th Battalion of the CRPF were conducting an anti-Maoist operation.

Confirming the incident, Kolhan DIG Manoj Ratan Chothe said, "An IED exploded during the search operation, injuring three jawans. They have been airlifted to Ranchi for treatment."

Security forces have intensified search operations in the region, and further details are awaited.
