Bengaluru, Mar 7: A special court has reserved its order on the bail petition filed by actress Ranya Rao, who was arrested in connection with a high-profile gold smuggling case. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) strongly opposed her bail plea, citing the seriousness of the charges.
Ranya Rao was apprehended after being allegedly linked to an organized smuggling network involved in illicit gold imports. The DRI argued that granting her bail could hinder the ongoing investigation and allow key evidence to be tampered with.

During the hearing, the prosecution submitted crucial findings, including electronic evidence and financial transactions purportedly linking the actress to the smuggling racket. Meanwhile, her defense contended that she was being falsely implicated and sought bail on grounds of cooperation with authorities.
The court, after hearing arguments from both sides, reserved its order, with a decision expected in the coming days. The case has attracted significant attention due to Ranya Rao’s involvement in the entertainment industry.
Further developments are awaited as the investigation into the gold smuggling network continues.
