Punjab police foils major target killing plot by BKI-backed terror module

Chandigarh, Mar 7: Punjab Police averted a major target killing planned by a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)-backed terror module with the arrest of three operatives and the recovery of sophisticated weapons and ammunition.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav revealed that the module was being handled by US-based gangster Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Nawashehria, a close aide of Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda, in coordination with Laadi Bakapuria, based in Greece.

"In a major breakthrough, Counter Intelligence, Jalandhar foiled a major target killing attempt in Punjab with the arrest of three module members – Jagroop Singh alias Jagga, Sukhjit Singh alias Sukha, and Navpreet Singh alias Nav," Yadav stated in a post on X.

• One PX5 Storm (Beretta) 30 bore pistol with a magazine and four bullets

• One country-made 30 bore pistol with a magazine and four cartridges

• One country-made 32 bore pistol with a magazine and eight cartridges

An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar, and investigations are underway to trace backward and forward linkages to dismantle the entire network.

The Punjab Police remain committed to ensuring the state's security by actively neutralizing terror threats and criminal syndicates.
