Vizianagaram, Mar 10: In a unique initiative, Vizianagaram MP K Appala Naidu has announced a financial incentive of ?50,000 for families in his constituency where the third child is a baby girl. The amount will be placed in a fixed deposit, potentially growing to ?10 lakh by the time she reaches marriageable age.

"If the third child is a boy, the family will receive a cow and a calf. But if it's a girl, we will ensure a ?50,000 fixed deposit in her name. India's population needs to grow," Naidu stated on Sunday.

Inspired by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's advocacy for population growth, the MP emphasized the importance of supporting women. He credited influential women in his life—including his mother, wife, sisters, and daughter—for shaping his perspective.

Highlighting gender discrimination as a pressing issue, he stressed the need to empower women. Naidu made the announcement during International Women’s Day celebrations in his constituency, promising that every eligible woman would benefit from the initiative.
